    Excellent food, best gorditas in town, fresh salsa and friendly staff.  

    This is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in San Rafael.

    Ordered veggie burrito, it came with complimentary chips. The portion size was great. The taste was also good. However, since the portion was huge, I could not finish it right away so I stored the leftovers in refrigerator. Within a few hours the burrito had gone bad, the salsa which came with chips was also spoiled.

    I would only recommend this place if only one can finish the food right away.

    Great food, wonderful service, convenient location, good reasonable prices, and a varied menu. Would recommend for families, people on a budget, and foodies! Parking is on the street mostly and there is outdoor seating.

    This is a wonderful family run business that does home cooking. Nice people, simple setting, a couple outdoor tables. But there is an authenticity I feel here for the great food. How can they do all this wonderful food in a tiny kitchen? All the ladies in front of the house are totally polite. The food arrives in great portions at a great price. Everything I saw looked fresh and clean. I have included this place on my personal "Will Eat Here" list.  It is worth at least a lunch drop in to test my recommendation.

    Another amazing visit at El Palmar Restaurant. We were starving and decided to visit again. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. They recently renovated the entire place and it looks great!

    We ordered 3 plates this time and all 3 were on point. We ordered the El Pastor Taco plate with avocado and pico de gallo, a shrimp tostada and the Milanesa Steak Plate with fries and rice/beans.

    The restaurant is clean, organized and easy to find parking.

    If you are in the San Rafael area you definitely have to visit.
